Injured Ex-WWE Champion Drops Heartbreaking Health Update
Ex-NXT Tag Team Champion Ridge Holland gives his fans a new update about his health.
Holland got injured on September 27, 2025, during a TNA Wrestling taping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he suffered a severe foot injury in a match against Moose, which forced the referee to stop the match. He went under the knife in early October to treat his injury. He has been giving fans regular updates about his injury and recovery status ever since.
WWE Star Ridge Holland Might Need Another Surgery
On October 21, Holland shared a new tweet where he revealed he is about to have his cast removed next Tuesday and undergo more X-rays to start partial weight bearing. However, he also revealed a preexisting neck injury that was being evaluated. He expressed concern about possible neck surgery due to nerve impingement causing pain down his arm, but hopes for a less invasive treatment like injections.
“So, just a bit of an update. Next Tuesday, I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama, to have the cast off, some more X-Rays to make sure that the foot is all good and we can go to partial weight bearing. The kicker is that prior to the foot, I had a neck injury that was going to get imaging for. I got imaging for that post-foot surgery and I’m going to Birmingham to see the neck specialist.”
“Worst case scenario, I’ll need neck surgery and I’m hoping for the best case scenario, which is injections but I’m having some nerve impingement which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen because it’s another kick in the balls, really. I’ll keep you posted.”
Last week, Holland disclosed that his WWE contract is set to expire in mid-November 2025, and WWE has decided not to renew his deal. But after his deal ends, he’ll be left to fend for himself. After the sad update, Holland changed his name on X and started going by his real name, Luke Menzies.
