AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door saw an injured star return in full glory.

Former Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter had been out of action since Double or Nothing.

During the May 2025 pay-per-view, Hayter faced Mercedes Mone in the final of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

It was reported that the injury occurred possibly during a botched roll-up or an awkward landing during the match.

She was subsequently written off TV, with AEW President Tony Khan claiming that her injury had caused a domino effect on the company’s booking plans.

The unexpected incident caused the Florida promotion to make adjustments to its women’s division, resulting in call-ups to talents like Queen Aminata.

Jamie Hayter Returns At AEW Forbidden Door

Queen Aminata was one of the stars featured in the 8-woman pre-show match.

The match also featured Theka, with whom AEW intended to run a storyline with Jamie Hayter before the latter’s injury.

At Forbidden Door, Aminata and Theka were shown fighting backstage, which was then brought to the entrance.

The numbers game got the better of Aminata, as Skye Blue and Julia Hart attacked her from behind.

Before more damage could be inflicted, Jamie Hayter came in with the save. Hayter and Aminata celebrated with the fans later.
