Injured AEW Star Returns On Rampage

AEW

There was good news on Rampage for fans as Mark Briscoe made his return and took out one AEW star.

Mark Briscoe last competed on a Ring of Honor episode of HonorClub that aired on the 6th of July and was forced to miss several months from the ring due to a knee injury that required surgery.

Briscoe had been set to challenge Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship at July’s ROH Death Before Dishonor show but he had to give up that opportunity and was replaced by PAC who failed to dethrone Castagnoli as champion.

Mark Briscoe’s return to that title scene may well have started on AEW Rampage when he made his return to TV for the company. Kip Sabian was running down Philadelphia sports teams much to the annoyance of the crowd when Briscoe made his presence felt. Sabian got in his face but Mark Briscoe ultimately laid him out.

Mark Briscoe to continue the fight in AEW and ROH

2022 was one of the best years of Mark Briscoe’s career as he and his brother Jay traded the ROH Tag Team Championship with FTR in a trio of critically acclaimed matches. However, 2023 couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start as Jay Briscoe lost his life in a car accident in January.

Since then Mark Briscoe has carried the family name in both Ring of Honor and AEW – when he will compete in his first match back remains to be seen.
