Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has not competed since August 10th, 2022 as back issues have kept her from getting in the ring and cost the star her title.

Rosa was originally meant to battle Toni Storm at All Out in September 2022 but she pulled out due to injury issues that caused a lot of controversy at the time.

Since then, Rosa has been missing from the ring in AEW but she did return to the company earlier this year as a Spanish language announcer. Such was the situation regarding Thunder Rosa in the company, there was said to be a “clear the air” meeting on the day she came back.

With AEW All Access now airing, Rosa’s injury has been back in the spotlight as it was the subject of much debate on the show. Dr. Britt Baker DMD maintaining that there are still questions that La Mera Mera has to answer.

Speaking at the Busted Open WrestleMania Party, Thunder Rosa explained that she doesn’t think she’s going to be cleared any time soon to compete once again:

“That’s the question everyone asks me during the signings. Unfortunately, I wasn’t cleared and I don’t think I’m going to be cleared anytime soon. I need another MRI.”

During the latest episode of AEW All Access, Rosa was shown with her doctor who explained that she has two herniated disks, with the doctor adding that she has “two disk injuries with tears.”
