More Information On Chris Jericho’s Shock Dynamite Loss
A new report has named the person behind Chris Jericho’s shocking loss on AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming to the debuting Action Andretti.
At Winter Is Coming, Chris Jericho was in a foul mood following his Ring of Honor World Championship loss to Claudio Castagnoli at Final Battle. As a result, Jericho wanted a tune-up match against “a jobber” but The Ocho ended up with more than he bargained for.
Jericho squared off with Action Andretti – who was making his Dynamite debut – with the raucous Texan crowd firmly behind Andretti. To the shock of everyone, Action Andretti ended up picking up the biggest win of his career with a running shooting star press.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that this match was the brainchild of Chris Jericho himself and had been in the works for quite some time:
“Action Andretti had a match on one of the streaming shows against QT Marshall. Chris Jericho was watching the match and decided at that moment this guy’s gonna be a star. So he decided that he was going to make him a star. And this goes way back and he had all this stuff to do, the Claudio feud, these other matches, and they actually at that point go this is when we’re gonna be done with this.”
“This match on this date, this was not something where it was decided like yesterday, this was weeks and weeks and weeks ago. The date was decided on the date of the Action Andretti and QT match.”
The Action Andretti vs. QT Marshall match in question took place on the 7th of October 2022 and aired on the 11th of October 2022 edition of AEW Dark.
