Huge Stipulation Added To Cody Rhodes Vs. Drew McIntyre WWE Title Match

Drew McIntyre Cody Rhodes WWE

A major change was made to the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Drew McIntyre is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title tomorrow night at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Tonight on SmackDown, the two superstars were scheduled to sign the match’s contract in the ring.

Ahead of the segment, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis spoke with the two men backstage to ensure neither had any concerns about the contract. However, McIntyre refused to sign it when he got to the ring.

The Scottish Warrior protested that Rhodes could get himself counted out or disqualified to retain his title tomorrow, which puts him at a disadvantage. Although Aldis threatened to replace McIntyre with any other WWE star if he refused to sign the contract, the former World Heavyweight Champion did not seem to care and attempted to leave the ring.

Nevertheless, The American Nightmare stopped his challenger and agreed to add a stipulation to the match where he would lose the title if he got counted out or disqualified.

Drew McIntyre Stands Tall Over Cody Rhodes Before WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

After the two superstars finally signed the contract for their Saturday Night’s Main Event title match, Drew McIntyre took huge shots at Cody Rhodes, claiming the latter represented corporate America. Meanwhile, he called himself “the real American Dream,” stating that he works hard, tells the truth, and does not use his influence.

The Scottish Warrior also highlighted that he and Rhodes walked a similar path after leaving WWE, leading to their comeback. The American Nightmare agreed, pointing out that the only difference was that he willingly left the company when he got fed up, but McIntyre was fired.

The Undisputed WWE Champion then told his rival that nice guys used to finish last until he showed up before attempting to leave. However, McIntyre refused to let Rhodes have the last word. He warned The American Nightmare that fans will eventually turn on him. He also provoked the second-generation star by telling him that his daughters were the ones who would be happy to have him trick-or-treating with them.

When The Scottish Warrior asked Rhodes about his daughters’ names, the latter lost his cool and attacked him. He tried to hit McIntyre with the title belt, but the latter ducked and left the ring. However, the former World Heavyweight Champion got the last laugh as he returned to the ring while Aldis talked to Rhodes to Claymore his Saturday Night’s Main Event opponent. He then put The American Nightmare through a table.

Before the show went off the air, McIntyre stood over the champion and swore to dethrone him tomorrow, promising to do whatever it takes.
