How Triple H Now Deals With Unhappy CM Punk In WWE

Triple H WWE

Hell froze over when CM Punk returned to WWE and now Triple H has detailed what now happens when Punk doesn’t like his creative.

CM Punk walked out of WWE in 2014 after growing increasingly frustrated with many things including his creative direction in the company. Despite a 434-day reign as WWE Champion, Punk was overlooked for WrestleMania main events, instead having to make way for The Rock and John Cena.

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series in 2023 and although publicly everything has been all smiles between Punk and Triple H – someone Punk had nothing good to say about – there have been creative issues. But it’s how they’re being dealt with that proves to be the difference.

Triple H & CM Punk Go Through Paradigm Shift

Speaking to High Performance, Triple H explained what happened when CM Punk disliked a creative idea for him and that incredibly discussing ideas with Punk is something he now cherishes:

We’ve had a couple of moments since his return, there was one moment where he’d return and they told him something creatively and they told me, ‘He does not like this.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll talk to him.’ Went and talked to him. ‘What’s going on?’ I told him the creative and he was like, ‘That’s good, whatever.’

I was like, ‘I know you don’t like it. Everybody’s told me. Let’s be open.’ He complained about what it was and I said, ‘Let’s go sit and talk about it and come up with something good.’ That sort of changed, it was like a paradigm shift for us relationship-wise, and now, it’s a funny thing for me to say, sitting down and being collaborative with CM Punk is one of my favorite things in TV because he shares a very similar view at the end of the day of the business as I do.

CM Punk will main event WrestleMania 41 against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with a major question hanging in the air over where Paul Heyman’s loyalties really lie.
