“He’s Losing And Is Desperate” – AEW Source On CM Punk’s Injured Dog Claims

A source close to The Elite has alleged that CM Punk’s claims of his dog Larry being injured at All Out were fabricated.

The events of the AEW All Out backstage scuffle are now lodged firmly in the minds of wrestling fans. Numerous reports have stated that chairs were thrown and bitemarks were left on skin. Differing reports offered allegations that CM Punk’s locker room door had supposedly been kicked in, though this was quickly shut down.

Larry, CM Punk’s dog, is also said to have been in attendance, though was reportedly removed from the situation by Kenny Omega. This had been the only mention of Larry in any report of the incident until recently, as it’s been claimed Larry was actually injured in the brawl.

Writing in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that a source close to the opposing side had questioned why only now was this being mentioned, hinting that CM Punk was creating an elaborate story in an attempt to sway the internal investigation, as well as sympathy from fans, in his direction:

“A completely made up story. He’s [Punk] losing [in the investigation results] and is desperate. There was a multiple weeks long investigation and this was oddly not discovered? Hmm. Also, it so happened to be mentioned the moment there was news about [The [Young] Bucks & [Kenny] Omega] possibly coming back? It’s insane that people would even humour this.”

Another source, who isn’t affiliated with either party and stated that Punk acted like a “total psycho” at the time, speculated as to why Lucy Guy – Ace Steel’s wife, who was in the room the entire time – was never questioned on the incident:

“They never spoke to Lucy Guy [the only person in the room who didn’t work regularly for AEW other than the security], cause she was a non-factor. Sat in the corner the whole time as her husband was throwing chairs, punches and biting Kenny.”

The outcome of the events saw CM Punk and The Elite stripped of the AEW World and World Trios Championships, while everyone directly involved was suspended. Ace Steel was subsequently released.

It’s believed that CM Punk won’t be returning to AEW, amidst rumours that the company is attempting to buy out the remainder of his current contract. As for The Elite, it’s said they returned backstage during the October 26 AEW Dynamite, and are slated to make a televised comeback “imminently“.
