Unlikely Hero Saved Drew McIntyre From WrestleMania 40 Catastrophe
Drew McIntyre could have been this charming man without a stitch to wear at WrestleMania 40 but now it’s been revealed just who came to his rescue.
Since CM Punk suffered a serious injury at the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre has trolled him relentlessly and that continued when the Scottish star defeated Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 with Punk watching on.
However, McIntyre flew a little too close to the sun as he gesticulated a certain two words best spouted by DX in Punk’s face while standing on the announce table. Punk swept McIntyre’s leg and then nailed him with his arm brace before blowing a kiss to McIntyre’s wife.
Damian Priest finally found his way to the ring when a champion had been taken out and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract. Priest nailed Drew McIntyre with a South of Heaven chokeslam to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
Before the event itself, McIntyre revealed he was suffering a big issue. Taking to social media, Drew McIntyre noted his gear for WrestleMania had been lost and he couldn’t help but take another shot at CM Punk by asking to borrow his, which in hindsight probably wasn’t the best idea:
So @UPS have lost my gear before #WrestleMania As you’ve got no use for yours @CMPunk can I borrow some trunks?
Drew McIntyre Saved In The Nick Of Time For WrestleMania
Now it’s been revealed on social media by Jason Baker – the creator of Bray Wyatt’s Fiend mask – that his wife and professional seamstress Mandy June Baker came to McIntyre’s rescue, leaving the first night of WrestleMania to work through the night and get something ready for McIntyre to wear on the grandest stage of them all.
His gear was legit lost. Not a work. You suck @UPS. My phenomenal wife @SandyMimpson left #WrestleMania40 night one during the show, stayed up until 6am, and had replacement gear ready for @DMcIntyreWWE before the start of Night 2. Drew McIntyre was in a foul mood on the Raw after WrestleMania as he was part of a four-way match to find a new number one contender for Priest’s title. McIntyre looked set to have the match won but was screwed again by CM Punk which allowed Jey Uso to pick up the win.
