“He Was Pi**ed” – Why Vince McMahon Embarrassed The Undertaker
The Undertaker has had his ups and downs in the business. In fact, there have been moments when he knew that he wasn’t going to be the one highlighted in a situation.
Every pro-wrestling fan knows about The Deadman. He kept up his appearance as The Undertaker for thirty years, even in public, to not destroy the illusion of The Phenom. It’s only after social media that fans got a glimpse of the man behind the mask.
He worked with WWE during Vince McMahon’s reign, and was probably one of the superstars who was close to The Big Man. In fact, Vince McMahon inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Vince McMahon embarrassed The Undertaker by having him drop a title
Recently, Bayley appeared on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, and Michelle McCool was present too. The Role Model spoke about WrestleMania 41, and how she was pulled a day before from the tag team match. Becky Lynch replaced her in that match.
During the conversation about facing disappointments in the business, The Undertaker narrated a story about a time when he had dethroned Stone Cold Steve Austin, but Vince McMahon switched the title back.
I beat Stone Cold for the world title. I think it may have been two or three weeks later where in, we are doing TV, and Vince brings myself, Steve, Triple H, and Kane into a room, and he is pi**ed. He is like, ‘this ain’t working’. No, I think, I don’t remember what title Kane had. He had a title, or he was doing something. Triple H was the Intercontinental Champion, I was the world champion, and Steve. He goes, “Look, this isn’t working. We are going to change things up. We are going to switch this title back to Steve tonight”. And then I am waiting, and I’m like What are you, I guess they are going to take the title off. He was that upset. Basically, the only thing that was changing was the fact that I wasn’t the one getting over as the champ. I am trying to process that because that’s a blow to your ego.
The Undertaker retired from WWE in November 2020.
