Gunther Will Get New Challenger On Raw

In an era of dominant title reigns in WWE, Intercontinental Champion Gunther is set to find out the next challenger to his gold on Monday Night Raw.

Following the WWE Draft, it was all change for Raw and SmackDown with Gunther and his Imperium teammates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vince being moved to the red brand.

Since winning the Intercontinental Title from Ricochet in June 2022, The Ring General has successfully defended his title against the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, and most recently Xavier Woods.

Now WWE has announced that on Raw in Greensboro, a number one contender’s battle royal will take place with the winner getting the next shot at Gunther’s gold.

Monday night’s show will also see Cody Rhodes respond to Brock Lesnar who cost The American Nightmare his chance to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and challenged Rhodes to a “fight” at Night of Champions. Becky Lynch will also appear to address the ongoing issues with Trish Stratus after The Man shocked Stratus and took her out on the previous week’s show.

There will be championship action on the show as Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville while The Miz will also face Shinsuke Nakamura.
