Goldberg Challenged To Retirement Match By Former WWE Star
With Goldberg seemingly ready to lace his boots at least one more time, a former WWE star wants to be “next”.
Whilst there was talk that Goldberg originally had a handshake deal with Vince McMahon regarding having his retirement match for WWE, it would seem it’s now looking more likely that he’ll run a self-promoted retirement tour, with the man himself mentioning the idea of the multiple-date run.
However, that would still leave the options open for who the former World Champion would take on in these showpiece matches. Now, one of the big guys from the WWE’s past has made it clear that they want to be on that list.
In a post on social media, Ryback has noted that he would be cleared to get back to competition by this summer, and he’d like his first match to be against Goldberg in a retirement match.
I will be cleared this summer to officially return to wrestling. I challenge @Goldberg in my return to a Retirement Match.
Although this would seem to indicate he’d like to be Goldberg’s final opponent, a Retirement Match stipulation could be the chance for Ryback to have one final match. Either way, Ryback has been keeping fans updated on his recovery with the aim of returning to the squared circle, even if polls he has run have often humorously led to the vote that he should retire.
