Full 22/8 WWE SmackDown Card: 2 Big Matches Added
The card for the August 22 edition of WWE SmackDown is taking shape.
With Clash In Paris just around the corner, WWE has headed to Europe for Raw and SmackDown. The blue brand is set to start things off in Dublin, Ireland, on August 22, with several of WWE’s biggest names expected to be involved.
On the August 15 episode of SmackDown, Alexa Bliss got the better of Piper Niven, but that was only part of the story. After the match, Niven, Alba Fyre, and Chelsea Green attacked Bliss and her tag team partner, Charlotte Flair.
Earlier in the show, Niven and Fyre had promised to take the Women’s Tag Team Championships from Bliss and Flair.
As the rivalry continues, it’s now been announced that Flair will face Niven on SmackDown.
Meanwhile, the Street Profits will take on two stars from Solo Sikoa’s MFT. However, there’s no word on who out of Talla Tonga, JC Matteo, and Tonga Loa will be in action.
John Cena Heading To WWE SmackDown
It had already been announced that John Cena could be on the show as he prepares for his match with Logan Paul at Clash In Paris. As his retirement nears, it’s been confirmed that Cena will be in action a month later at Wrestlepalooza to kick off WWE’s new partnership with ESPN.
According to a recent report, the event will be headlined by John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar. The 17-time World Champion will officially end his career on December 13th.
