Former WWE World Champion Edges One Step Closer To Facing John Cena

WWE star John Cena is set to walk away from the ring following next month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. It remains to be seen who will win the “Last Time Is Now” tournament to face Cena in his final WWE match.

Four wrestlers had already advanced to the next round before tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW kicked off. Two more stars joined LA Knight, Jey Uso, Sheamus, and Rusev in the next round tonight.

Solo Sikoa became the fifth person to advance in the tournament after he defeated a returning Dolph Ziggler. Another former champion returned tonight to book his spot in the second round.

Former World Champion Gunther emerged victorious on his WWE return

Two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, made his return to the company after a prolonged absence since losing his title at SummerSlam 2025. He marked his return to television with a victory over NXT’s Je’Von Evans.

A match between the two was announced for tonight’s episode of RAW, and the Ring General didn’t miss a beat despite being away from the ring for the last three month’s due to a nose injury.

He is amongst the favorites to win the tournament and tonight, he edged one step closer to retiring another WWE legend.
