A former WWE superstar is sending out a message of hope to those wrestlers released from their contracts on September 21st.

Rumors and predictions regarding WWE superstars being released following the Endeavor merger came to pass on Thursday as twenty men and women were let go from both NXT and the main roster brands.

Those released range from well-known former champions like Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin to relative unknowns like Kevin Cortes and Bryson Montana.

Morale within WWE had already taken a nosedive prior to these talent releases, but someone who was in this very situation before is offering words of encouragement to those wrestlers that now find themselves without a job.

Matt Cardona encourages released WWE talent to look ahead with a positive attitude

Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, took to social media to give an uplifting message to those wrestler that were let go, noting that they are in control over their own destinies now.

“TO THOSE WHO WERE JUST RELEASED

This can be the END of your career… Or it can be the BEGINNING……

Look yourself in the mirror and decide. I promise you the work and the MONEY is out there. It’s not easy. It’s a grind. It’s a hustle. It’s frustrating… But it also can be incredibly rewarding (in more ways than one) IF YOU WORK YOUR F***ING ASS OFF!

I hope to see a lot of you down the road.”

Cardona wrestled for WWE under various names and gimmicks for fifteen years before being released from the company in 2020, with the explanation for his release being “budget cuts”.

Following his release, Cardona dove into the independent circuit and did everything he could to market himself to fans across the independent scene.

The result has led to Cardona enjoying consistent booking all across the wrestling scene in the United States. Over the past three years he has appeared in independent federations big and small, and has also won titles in such promotions as IMPACT, GCW, and the NWA.
