Former WWE Star Returning To TV For First Time In 6 Years

A former WWE Superstar is set to make a shocking return to televised wrestling for the first time since he left the company in 2016.

Alex Riley had been under the WWE umbrella since 2007 when he was a part of the then-developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling where he shared the ring with the likes of Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.

In 2010, Riley became The Miz’s rookie on the second season of NXT, when the fledgling brand was still styled as something of a reality series. Riley and The Miz’s partnership stuck and soon Alex Riley was by The Miz’s side for his matches on the main roster, including his WrestleMania 27 main event against John Cena for the WWE Championship.

The partnership soon soured later in 2011 after The Miz had lost his title to Cena, with Riley attacking his mentor for one verbal beatdown too many. At Capitol Punishment Riley picked up a win over The Miz and went on to compete in that year’s Money In The Bank ladder match but that proved to be as high as his WWE career would go.

Alex Riley worked as a commentator for some time in WWE before returning to more regular competition back in NXT before he was released by the company in May 2016. Since then he has only competed in one wrestling match which took place in December 2022 and now Riley is set for a return to television as part of the NWA.

NWA’s Nuff Said pay-per-view taking place on Saturday, February 11th will see Riley – under his real name of Kevin Kiley go one-on-one with another former WWE star in EC3.
