Former WWE Star Rhyno Reflects On His Infamous 'Gore' Signature Move

In a recent interview on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel, WWE and ECW veteran Rhyno recently took wrestling fans on a trip down memory lane, recounting some of the most unforgettable ‘Gore’ moments of his illustrious career.

At the heart of Rhyno’s revelations was the infamous incident involving Chris Jericho, where Rhyno executed a devastating Gore that sent Jericho crashing through the SmackDown entrance set. Reflecting on this career-defining moment, Rhyno expressed astonishment at Jericho’s resilience.

I’m surprised he survived that. I actually knocked my head on the [set] when it popped down.

The sheer force behind the move was vividly described by Rhyno, emphasising the physical toll such high-impact manoeuvres can exact on both the executor and recipient.

Freight train of momentum, mass, intensity…I’m going to have to rate that like over 100, maybe for the speed, intensity. That’s a gore times more.

Interestingly, this spectacular moment served a dual purpose for WWE. While it created an unforgettable spectacle for fans, it also facilitated a significant new set change. The following week, WWE unveiled a new “SmackDown” set, introducing the iconic “SmackDown” fist that would become a visual staple of the show for years to come.

This walk down memory lane from the “Man-Beast” wasn’t limited to his encounter with Jericho. He fondly recalled his Gore encounters with other top WWE names.

When I hit The Rock with the gore…or The Big Show. I ran and jumped off–we had the stairs, it was a hardcore match, in the ring. I jumped off of that, I think I almost had to because he was so tall.

These anecdotes highlight the adaptability required in professional wrestling, particularly when facing opponents of varying sizes. Rhyno’s ‘Gore’ is a move that has left an indelible mark on the sport, continues to be remembered as one of the most impactful finishers in wrestling history.
