Former WWE Champion Targets Chance To Rewrite History
Former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Chad Gable is keen to rewrite history on the 11th March edition of Raw.
The 38 year-old former U.S Olympian is set to compete in a gauntlet match on the show to determine the challenger for Gunther’s WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Gable will compete against Shinsuke Nakamura, JD McDonagh, Ricochet, Bronson Reed and Sami Zayn for the honour of facing ‘The Ring General’ at WWE’s top Premium Live Event in Philadelphia.
The Alpha Academy member is hunting for retribution over the powerful Austrian after his young daughter was left in tears at ringside following an unsuccessful tilt at the Intercontinental Championship on the 4th September 2023 edition of Raw.
Looking ahead to the upcoming gauntlet bout, Gable took to social media site ‘X’ to declare his intentions to rewrite history, starting with booking his place at ‘the showcase of the immortals’ with victory on Monday:
“I’ve been running the gauntlet in my own head since that match with Gunther last September. Trust me, the only tears you ever want to wipe off your child’s face are tears of joy. But if I want that chance, a new gauntlet stands in front of me. My path to heaven runs straight through a gauntlet of hell.
A gauntlet filled with demons from my past that I’m gonna have to overcome this time in order to earn my date with destiny. My date with redemption.
It’s a rare chance to rewrite history. We don’t get those every day. So I intend to claim it and become a beacon of perseverance that my fans and my family can be proud of, so I will endure. Because for Chad Gable, this match just means more.”
WWE Superstar LA Knight Destined For Huge WrestleMania Bout
One man who won’t be competing for the Intercontinental Championship is LA Knight.
The 41-year old has featured prominently on WWE programming in recent months but looks set to put aside his quest for gold in favour of a WrestleMania 40 grudge match with AJ Styles.
Knight was recently the recipient of praise from WWE legend John Cena. The 16-time World Champion opened up about what impressed him most about the former Million Dollar Champion.
