Former WCW Star Thinks The Young Bucks Have Gotten Stale
The Young Bucks still have some detractors, including a famous former WCW wrestler.
The Young Bucks – Matt and Nick Jackson – have been wrestling for almost twenty years. They’ve been staples across the American independent wrestling scene and have collected a staggering amount of tag titles throughout their careers.
Taking into account major/widely recognized promotions they’ve worked for (AEW, ROH, NJPW, Chikara, PWG, AAA, and Dragon Gate USA), The Young Bucks have had 20 two-man tag title reigns and six three-man tag title reigns.
But for all the work they’ve done over the decades, they’ve earned some detractors as well. And now, one wrestler that usually has something nice to say about them has some constructive criticism for them as well.
Speaking on his Keeping It 100 podcast, Konnan criticized the Bucks for their repetitive in-ring work while at the same time praising them for how they behave backstage.
“The Young Bucks are good for the dressing room because they’re easily approachable. They like to help people. They’re just good people to have. They’re certain people you want to have in your locker room.
They always give good matches. They don’t care about losing or winning [because] they just want to entertain the people. They’re just good to have any way you cut it.
The problem is they kind of have gotten stale. They need to kickstart their s*** because they’re entertaining.”
