Former Champion Signs New WWE Deal, Door Open For In-Ring Return
A former Women’s Champion has signed a new Legends deal with WWE.
Lisa Marie Varon has announced she’s signed a Legends contract with WWE. Varon, better known to fans as Victoria noted that while this doesn’t mean she’s getting back in the ring, never say never.
The star initially joined the sports entertainment giant in 2000 and went on to become a two-time Women’s Champion. After leaving the company in 2009, Varon joined TNA, where she won the Knockouts Title five times under the name Tara. The former champion essentially ended her full-time career in 2013, although she wrestled on the independent scene until 2019 while making occasional appearances for TNA and WWE.
Varon wrestled her last match in January 2023, teaming with Gisele Shaw in TNA. The return came two years after the star took part in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
In a short video on social media, Varon said she was “ecstatic” to sign the new contract.
“ANNOUNCEMENT Here it is, my big announcement! Earlier this week I signed a WWE Nostalgic contract. I am so excited and honored that @wwe reached out to me about this! It’s a true honor to be part of the WWE Universe again. This doesn’t mean I will be hopping back into the ring (but never say never!). It does mean I will be included in future things such as video games and maybe some new official merch! Big thank you to #WWE and all my fans and supporters, I hope you are excited about this as I am!”

Trish Stratus Wants Victoria In WWE Hall Of Fame
In more recent years, Varon has been recognised as one of the most underrated yet important figures in women’s wrestling in North America. Although often overlooked, her contemporaries often praise the star for her impact and influence.
Back in 2023, Trish Stratus publicly called for Victoria to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
“I find it so crazy that she is so underrated, under recognized. How many times are we going to have a Hall of Fame? I love Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler, but this is a wrestling (company), I know we don’t say ‘wrestling,’ for some reason, I don’t know why, I am a wrestler and we work for World Wrestling Entertainment, I’d like to see a wrestler maybe get into the Hall of Fame next like Victoria. Maybe I’m crazy.”
Stratus and Victoria regularly feuded on television between 2002 and 2006.
