Former Champion Returns To Action On AEW Dynamite

AEW TNT Championship

AEW fans were welcomed back to Wardlow’s World on October 4th.

As seen during the latest edition of Dynamite, the former TNT Champion made his surprise return to action, squashing Griff Garrison in the process.

Garrison was already in the ring as Justin Roberts stated that his opponent would be making his entrance but would not say who it was until the music hit. Wardlow made his entrance to the delight of the California crowd and immediately took the fight to Garrison. Giving the people what they want from the outset, Wardlow hit 4 consecutive powerbombs to leave Garrison lifeless. When Mr Mayhem delivered the 5th powerbomb, referee Paul Turner had no choice but to stop the match. With his work completed, the former TNT Champion did not celebrate and instead elected to make his way to the back by walking through the crowd.

When Was Wardlow Last On AEW TV?

The former TNT Champion last competed on the debut episode of Collision on June 17th. Appearing in the opening match, Wardlow would lose the title to Luchasaurus following interference from Christian Cage, ending his third title reign.

Prior to breaking out on his own in All Elite Wrestling, the dominant wrestler was brought into the promotion to provide protection for MJF. Following the former bodyguard getting increasingly positive reactions from the fans, the pair would split after Double or Nothing 2022. In the opening match of the show, MJF was squashed by his former associate to end his services as protector of the current World Champion. This was also the match that MJF’s participation was in doubt following reported contract disputes and failing to attend a meet and greet the day prior.
