Forgotten AEW Star Surprises Everyone On Dynamite Debut
There was a surprise in store on Dynamite Maximum Carnage as a long-time absent talent finally made their debut on AEW’s flagship show.
Dynamite Maximum Carnage saw Toni Storm win the first-ever women’s Casino Gauntlet match to book her shot at Mariah May’s AEW Women’s World Championship at Grand Slam Australia.
But it wasn’t just Storm who stole the headlines in that match as a surprise name re-emerged in the company.
Megan Bayne Back In AEW
Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter kicked off the match before Megan Bayne surprised everyone as the third competitor.
Bayne has been under contract with the company for years, but after injury halted her momentum she was encouraged to take bookings elsewhere. This saw her pop up on the independent scene and impress regularly in STARDOM.
Creative pitches were being made to “re-debut” Megan Bayne in AEW potentially as a heel as early as May 2024. The star hadn’t wrestled for the promotion since competing in a dark match in June 2023 and this was her first Dynamite bout.
AEW shared something of an exclusive after the show as someone tried to coax a few words out of Megan Bayne but she let her silence speak for itself.
