First WWE Star Declares For Women’s Royal Rumble

WWE Damage CTRL

As the end of 2023 comes to a close, WWE stars are already plotting their Road to WrestleMania and one star sees that starting at the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes became the first WWE star to declare for the men’s Royal Rumble match and he was swiftly followed by CM Punk, who could have Seth Rollins and the World Heavyweight Championship in his sights should he get past 29 other men.

Rhodes won the men’s Rumble in 2023 but failed to dethrone Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. Now The American Nightmare hopes to be only the fourth WWE star in history to win back-to-back Rumbles and finish his story once and for all.

Bayley Aims For WWE Royal Rumble Success

The women’s Royal Rumble will also take place on January 27th in Tropicana Field and Damage CTRL could prove to have strength in numbers in that match. Bayley has become the first WWE star to declare for the women’s Rumble and add the one major thing in WWE to her CV that she has yet to win.

Bayley made her announcement to the rest of Damage CTRL on the 15th of December edition of SmackDown and made it very clear that if she wins, she won’t be targetting teammate IYO SKY’s WWE Women’s Title but will instead go after Rhea Ripley and the Women’s World Championship.

However, whether or not Bayley will still be a member of Damage CTRL as she loses grip on the group she created remains to be seen.
