Fired WWE Star Admits Having Itch To Return

A former WWE Superstar’s career might not be over.

Mandy Rose hasn’t wrestled since losing the NXT Women’s Championship on December 13th, 2022 to Roxanne Perez. Her departure caught many by surprise given her reign was the third-longest in NXT history and she was one of the biggest stars on the brand.

Since then, Rose has found incredible success outside of the ring with her exclusive content website and new business ventures, but talk of a return to wrestling is never far away.

Interestingly, that return might have taken one step closer in recent days when Rose took part in the BLP Wrestlers Combine event. During the combine she did a quick run-in during a match, her first slice of wrestling action in almost two years.

Speaking on her podcast, Power Alphas, Rose discussed the appearance.

“I was asked to do a little run-in. I was iffy about it since I haven’t made an in-ring appearance yet. It was literally two seconds, and I was feeling under the weather.

As I went to give my knee to Shazza, my other leg gave out. Thankfully, you wouldn’t be able to tell, but the back of my knee has been bothering me.

I had an MRI and nothing alarming came up. It’s just weird movements; it happened at the gym one day too. It’s not anything scary, but it did make me wonder if my time in the ring is done.”

After admitting she misses wrestling, Rose said she does have the itch to return but at present, her life is packed with other projects.

“I do have the itch a little bit, but I have a lot going on. For me, it has to make sense—emotionally, physically, not just financially. I love my current life—spending time with family, planning my wedding.

Do I want to jump back into the physical toll and constant traveling? I know there’s unfinished business for me, but I’m just not sure if now is the time.”

Why Did WWE Fire Mandy Rose?

WWE released Mandy Rose on December 14th, 2022, although at the time there was no official comment from the company.

It was reported at the time that the sports entertainment giant had been getting increasingly uncomfortable with the “explicit nature” of content she was posting on her FanTime page. In the wake of the move, Rose expressed her disappointment at the decision, questioning why shouldn’t be allowed to wrestle and share exclusive content.

The star also took issue with the company saying her content was too adult, suggesting there are no hard and fast rules and the situation is subjective.
