Mandy Rose Questions WWE Release – “Why Can’t I Do Both?

Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose has questioned why she was released from WWE and pointed to one particular “racy” photo that the company promoted.

It was on 14th December 2022 when Mandy Rose confirmed she had been released from her WWE contract. The move was even more surprising following her run as NXT Champion, which had only come to an end one night before at the hands of Roxanne Perez.

Fightful Select reported that WWE felt they needed to release Rose due to the “explicit nature” of content she was posting on her FanTime page. Reportedly, WWE management felt like the content was outside of the parameters of her WWE contract.

Speaking to the New York Post Mandy Rose has given her thoughts on her release and says given the opportunities available today, she questions why she couldn’t run her own site in conjunction with her WWE career:

“I am grateful and very humbled with everything I’ve done and made at the company [WWE], but in today’s day and age, there are so many other avenues and so many other marketing opportunities. It’s like, why can’t I do both? At the end of the day, I’m the only one watching out for myself and my career. Everyone’s replaceable in our business – it’s true.”

Mandy Rose defeated Blair Davenport and Meiko Satomura in September 2022 to unify the NXT UK and NXT Women’s Championships. To celebrate she published a photo of herself nude with her body strategically covered by her two title belts, reminiscent of the infamous photo Shawn Michaels had when he was WWE Champion.

Rose questioned if that photo was racy or not given that WWE reposted the image at the time:

“What’s the definition of racy? The photo of me with two titles – I was completely naked underneath, that’s considered a racy photo, right?”

Since leaving WWE, Mandy Rose is said to have raked in the cash through her fan site, making over $1 million in a matter of weeks.
