Fired WWE Broadcaster Fronts Brand New AEW Show
A former WWE broadcaster has now reappeared in AEW fronting a brand new show entirely dedicated to the Continental Classic.
Matt Camp joined WWE in September 2019 and became a regular fixture on The Bump. The presenter also appeared on several other shows before being quietly released in February 2024. However, since his release Camp has been anything but quiet about how his exit was handled.
Matt Camp has hit out at WWE’s “horsesh*t” company image following his firing and on his podcast, he previously explained the reason he was told for being let go:
As everybody knows, or maybe you don’t, because I have answered some tweets that don’t understand that I don’t work for WWE anymore, have not since early February. I was told by Michael Cole when that happened, and he was not the one who let me go. It was an HR representative.
I was told it had nothing to do with anything I did. It was a cost-cutting measure, whatever you want to do call it, we’re tightening the budget. I reached out to Michael Cole, and I said, ‘Hey, anything you can tell me?’ He was basically, ‘Okay, I guess you heard,’ and more changes coming to the team.
I think McKenzie [Mitchell] had been let go a little bit before, Kevin Patrick would move on after that.
Matt Camp Now Working For AEW
Now, it seems Matt Camp is back in the wrestling game as he fronted Inside The Continental Classic, a recap show covering the ins and outs of the first week of the Continental Classic.
