Female ex-WWE star Lana was once rejected because her butt was too big.

CJ Perry, who is currently signed to WWE under a Legends contract, recently had an interview with former WWE star Sonya Deville (Daria Berenato) and her wife, Toni Berenato, on their Unwrapped podcast. During the interview, she revealed that she was a professional ballerina before she entered the world of professional wrestling.

WWE Lana Faced Extreme Scrutiny As A Young Ballerina

Lana trained in Latvia at the Latvian National Academy of Ballet, where she faced harsh discipline and extreme scrutiny regarding her physical appearance. The academy was so rigid with its standards that she got rejected because of her big butt.

But the silver lining was that this adversity ultimately gave her mental toughness and resilience, which helped to shape her persona in professional wrestling and prepare her for the demands of entertainment.

When I was little in America, I went to little ballet schools, you know how everyone danced, so that was five, six, and then I moved to Latvia, and I started training, and then at 10 years old, you audition for the Latvian National Academy of Ballet, and they look at your body and everything.

You have to go in little underwear. They look at your parents, see your genetics. If they think your parents are too short or not the right body size, they’ll cut you at 10. And every six months, you have an audition where they’ll just cut you. They’ll be like, ‘Okay, you’re too fat, you’re not pretty enough, literally say that.

My best friend got cut. They said nature wasn’t good to you at 12 years old. Yeah. So, a lot of abuse, you know, a ton of verbal abuse. They would hit us with sticks. They would bring these sticks and come and hit us and tell me my butt was too big. It was crazy. But you know, it set me up for professional wrestling. It set me up for entertainment.
