Ex-WWE Boss Vince McMahon Wants Back In Business

Vince McMahon WWE

Vince McMahon’s lawyers have hit back in the lawsuit that has left his reputation in tatters but it seems, he has no intention of walking away from business.

Vince McMahon is facing sickening sexual assault allegations as part of a lawsuit filed by a former WWE employee. As a result, Vince McMahon has resigned as Executive Chairman of TKO and is in the process of selling off his shares in the company.

McMahon is seeking arbitration to avoid the lawsuit going to trial where much more evidence could come into the public domain. Now Vince McMahon’s lawyers have made their latest filing, opposing his accuser’s motion to strike his previous statement.

Vince McMahon Doesn’t Want To Be Harvey Weinstein

In the filing, claims are made that the relationship between Vince McMahon and the former WWE employee was entirely consensual. Discussing the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained exactly why McMahon’s lawyers are taking this step, and it seems it’s to allow the 78-year-old to get back to work:

The whole thing is they need to – as I said from the very beginning – they need to rehabilitate [McMahon’s] image enough to where he can do business as a businessman because that’s what he wants to do. Whether it’s wrestling – which from what I’m told it’s not wrestling – but he absolutely wants to do this. He doesn’t want to be Harvey Weinstein.

[…] He wants it to go away, he wants it to go to arbitration. But he needs enough stuff out there so he can go ‘some crazy woman I had an affair with, bad judgement, bad relationship, everyone’s had this.’

It remains to be seen what business Vince McMahon would be looking to get into if in a place to do so when all is said and done but a return to WWE looks to be incredibly unlikely.
