Ex-WWE Star Wants Manager Role Again
One former WWE star wants to use their talents outside the ring.
Former WWE Superstar Melina may not have competed in the ring in almost a year but she is keen to get back to work but not necessarily full-time as an in-ring wrestler.
Speaking on Ring The Belle, Melina noted that she’s keen to work with the star formerly known as Alicia Fox but is also keen to wield her influence on the outside of the ring:
“For the first time in 20-something years, I took a break from wrestling for a year. I gotta get back in shape because I enjoyed my vacation a little too much, but I’m happy with it. I’ll get back in shape, I want to do stuff with Alicia Fox.
“At the same time, I want to start managing. If anything, I want to start doing stuff behind the scenes or anything. Melina can do anything. I want to do everything to make you guys smile and have fun. That’s what matters to me.”
When did Melina compete in WWE?
Melina was part of WWE between 2004 and 2011 and is probably best remembered for her role as the manager to Johnny Nitro and Joey Matthews when they formed MNM. The team captured the WWE Tag Team Championship on three different occasions before going their separate ways.
As an in-ring competitor, Melina has plenty to boast about as she held the Divas Championship on two occasions as well as holding the WWE Women’s Title three times. Her full-time run in WWE came to an end in 2011 but she has made one-off appearances since with her last in-ring action coming in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble.
