Ex-WWE Star Debuts In TNA, Multiple NXT Wrestlers In Action
A former WWE NXT wrestler wrestled for TNA Wrestling at a recent taping while some current NXT stars were also at the same show.
One of the wrestlers released by WWE in late April was Xyon Quinn. The powerful Quinn was featured regularly on the NXT brand for several years. Quinn was then drafted to the WWE main roster, but hardly used and then eventually let go.
At the TNA Impact tapings in Tampa on Friday, Xyon Quinn was in action against former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin in what was Quinn’s first match for the promotion. The match result didn’t go Quinn’s way because Maclin picked up the victory in the match.
It is known if Quinn has signed a deal with TNA or if it was just a per appearance kind of deal, which is common for a lot of people that appear at Total Nonstop Action shows.
Several NXT Wrestlers In Action At TNA Tapings
Since the Total Nonstop Action tapings were in Tampa, it isn’t that far from Orlando where most of WWE’s NXT roster lives so they can train at the Performance Center and compete on NXT television.
NXT’s Riley Osborne from the Chase U faction won an Ultimate X qualifying match against Chris Bey & John Skyler, which means that Osborne will be appearing in Total Nonstop Action again.
Joe Hendry, who has become very popular in both TNA and WWE’s NXT brand, defeated Wolfgang of the Gallus group.
Another NXT talent was in action at the tapings as Dante Chen competed in an Ultimate X qualifying match against Zachary Wentz and KC Navarro. Wentz won the match, so Chen failed to qualify for the upcoming Ultimate X match.
There is another TNA taping in Tampa later tonight, August 3rd, so there could be more NXT stars in action at the show.
