Former WWE star KAIRI has commented on her former tag team partner Asuka and says she hopes she gets to see the star again someday soon.

As Kairi Sane, the Japanese star found popularity in WWE, and with Asuka as The Kabuki Warriors, they found success on WWE’s main roster becoming WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Speaking to Proresu-TODAY, KAIRI had a message for her fans based outside of Japan and for her former WWE tag team partner Asuka, who she hopes to see again:

“Miss Asuka, I hope to meet you again someday, somewhere.

“It has been about three years since I left the U.S., but the number of offers for interviews and matches from overseas has actually been increasing, and even on social networking sites, I receive many messages in English from overseas fans saying, ‘Please come back soon!’ I can only be thankful for that.”

KAIRI then discussed her big win in 2022 when she defeated Mayu Iwatani to become the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion:

“It (winning IWGP Women’s Title) was the highlight of my career so far, and even though I am a freelancer, it was the highlight of my return to STARDOM… Wrestling in New Japan’s ring…. And with Mayu (Iwatani) and with the belt in the main event, it was something I had never even dreamed of.”

KAIRI lost that title to Mercedes Mone at NJPW Battle In The Valley in February 2023 with Mone believed to be keen on setting up home in Japan.
