Ex-WWE Star Re-Signs With Company
A former WWE star will be back on television soon.
On April 14th, East Coast Pro Wrestling announced that Erick Rowan had pulled out of an upcoming appearance. Interestingly, the post said Rowan informed the promotion of the change due to “new contractual obligations” which will prevent him from making several dates.
Meanwhile, a subsequent report stated the star had been spotted in Pittsburgh — where WWE sends stars to get medically cleared.
Fast forward to May 1st and PWInsider is reporting that Rowan has indeed signed with the company.
Erick Rowan To Join Uncle Howdy In WWE?
In recent weeks there have been numerous mysterious teases on WWE television seemingly hinting that Uncle Howdy is set to make a stunning return. Bo Dallas played Uncle Howdy opposite Bray Wyatt before the latter’s untimely passing in August 2023.
There has been a great of speculation suggesting that Howdy won’t be returning alone and after all, Rowan formed part of the original Wyatt Family and worked alongside Wyatt for several years.
Erick Rowan signed with WWE in 2011 and featured for Florida Championship Wrestling before linking up with Wyatt in the relaunched NXT a year later. Rowan followed Wyatt onto the main roster, and even after the Wyatt Family drifted apart he continued to team with Luke Harper aka Brodie Lee.
Rowan was released by the sports entertainment giant in April 2020.
