Ex-WWE Star Makes TNA Debut
A former champion in WWE made his TNA debut in a tag team match at Turning Point.
Matt Riddle was released by WWE in September 2023 after a five-year run that saw the “bro” have success in the company as a United States Champion and a Tag Team Champion with Randy Orton in the popular RK-Bro tag team.
There were some out of the ring issues that led to WWE choosing to let Riddle go, but as wrestling fans know, the door could be open for a return some day.
Since departing WWE, Matt Riddle has chosen not to sign with another major wrestling company like AEW, TNA, NJPW, or MLW, but he does make independent wrestling appearances all over the world.
Matt Riddle Competes At TNA Turning Point As Mystery Partner
The TNA Turning Point PPV featured The Hardys teaming up with Ace Austin against Kushida, Zachary Wentz, and a mystery partner because Trey Miguel had travel issues. Since Turning Point took place at the WrestleCade convention in Winston-Salem, NC, there were a lot of wrestlers around, so that led to TNA using Matt Riddle in the spot.
While the TNA debut of Riddle drew a big reaction from the fans, he did not pick up the win for his team. Instead, Jeff Hardy got the win with a Swanton Bomb on Kushida.
It is not currently known if Riddle will make more TNA appearances or if it will just be a one-time thing.
