Ex-WWE Star Joins AEW Tag Team

A former WWE star has found what might be a perfect pairing as they team up with an AEW tag team indicating their future is with Tony Khan’s company.

Elias was one of twenty WWE stars released in September 2023 as his nine-year stint in the company came to an end. Best known for his exploits on the guitar rather than his in-ring talents, Elias shared many memorable moments in the company including at WrestleMania 34 with John Cena.

Since his release, he now goes by the name Elijah and has competed for several independent promotions, sharing the ring with the likes of Speedball Mike Bailey, Matt Riddle, and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry.

Elias recently admitted he’s open to a WWE return but now it looks like his future might lie somewhere else entirely.

From WWE To The Righteous For Elias

Elijah has taken to social media to share a new video which sees him join up with AEW/Ring of Honor tag team The Righteous as he asked “What wants to RUN with The Righteous Ones?!”

The Righteous is comprised of Vincent and Dutch, and they last appeared in AEW back in September 2024 although they have been a regular part of the Ring of Honor roster. Both The Righteous and Elijah have been part of the recent Jericho Cruise where another ex-WWE star reunited with his former tag team partner.
