A former WWE star might never wrestle again.

After signing a five-year contract with WWE in 2015, Mandy Rose bounced around NXT and the main roster before hitting her stride during a return to the company’s third brand in July 2021.

While heading up Toxic Attraction, Rose won the NXT Women’s Title that October. However, that run came to a shuddering halt on December 13, 2022, when she lost the title to Roxanne Perez. 24 hours later, WWE released Mandy Rose after reportedly becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the “explicit nature” of content she was posting on her FanTime page.

Although she hasn’t wrestled since being released, that hasn’t stopped fans from calling for a comeback.

Ex-WWE Star Mandy Rose Dealing With Back Injury

On a recent episode of her Power Alphas podcast, Rose again addressed the chances of an in-ring return. However, for the first time, she admitted she may never wrestle again after the discovery of several issues with her spine.

While Rose wouldn’t completely close the door on a comeback, she said the problems could change things.

“My number one question across all social media is always, ‘You know, when are you coming back to wrestling?’ or ‘Are you going to have a return?’ Obviously, I speak about it a lot, and try to answer your questions as best as I can.

I never know if there’s ever going to be a return in the future for me, but recently, Sabby and myself, actually both of us, have been seeing a chiropractor because I’ve had a little bit of trauma in the cervical spine area.

Nothing too crazy, thankfully, but after eight years of wrestling and years before that of bodybuilding and putting bars on my back, and playing sports—I always was athletic growing up, dancing—all of that takes a huge toll on your spine.”

Rose explained that during a recent trip to the Bahamas, she began to feel numbness and tingling in her hands, which caused her to seek treatment. This led to confirmation that she’s dealing with arthritis and the degeneration of some discs in her spine.

The former NXT Women’s Champion admitted this discovery means an in-ring return, at least in the short-term, doesn’t make sense.

“So, went to a chiropractor, found out — we got x-rays, found out that I have some arthritis in my C6, C7, C8 area, and some degeneration in my discs so I’ve been getting some treatments. So, right now, I feel like a wrestling return for me wouldn’t really make much sense because, obviously, the wear and tear it does on your body.”

Rose added that while she doesn’t need surgery, she’s already begun treatment and is working to manage the issues as much as possible.
