Ex-WWE Star Claims He Was Fired Over False Allegations
An ex-WWE star has claimed he was falsely fired by the company.
Enzo Amore was one of the most over superstars in the Stamford promotion along with his tag team partner Big Cass.
After an almost three-year run on NXT, the duo made its main roster debut on RAW after WrestleMania 32.
Amore had some of the best mic skills at the time, with the ability to get the crowd in any arena behind him.
While he did not win any major championships, he was a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion. The 38-year-old recently appeared on the Julian Dorey podcast, where he shed light into his firing.
The host brought up the incident wherein Amore was accused of sexual assault resulting in his departure, and that no evidence was found in relation.
Well, it never went to court. I never even got a f*cking phone call from the cops. Never spoke to anyone. And it went viral on the 25th anniversary of Monday Night RAW. [28:12 onwards]
Enzo Amore, who was the Cruiserweight Champion at the time, recalled that he was scheduled to wrestle Goldust on the special episode.
However, before the match he was reprimanded by Vince McMahon and later fired due to the allegations receiving traction.
Enzo Amore Gatecrashed WWE Survivor Series
WWE organized the 2018 Survivor Series event in November, ten months after Enzo Amore was fired.
At this time, an investigation was launched, but was closed by the police due to lack of evidence.
The pay-per-view was headlined by various superstar, including Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, and Daniel Bryan. It is also notorious for Amore gatecrashing it.
During the Authors of Pain vs. The Bar tag team match, the WWE cameras caught him in the audience wearing a wig and a hoodie.
As soon as Amore realized it, he hyped the crowd by standing on his seat and yelling at the audience. He was escorted by the building security shortly after.
WWE never officially acknowledge the incident.
