Ex-WWE Star Bullied Big E To “Breaking Point”
A former WWE star enjoyed making life difficult for Big E.
While appearing on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, the star formerly known as Hornswoggle looked back on his time on the road with Big E. Although described as never being “mean-spirited,” Swoggle admitted that he bullied the New Day star until he eventually hit his breaking point.
This saw him launch Hornswoggle into the air as they were walking into a building.
“I bullied Big E a lot. I always bullied Big E. I wasn’t bullied growing up; I’m very thankful for that. I wasn’t bullied in WWE; people didn’t wanna mess with Fit (Finlay), that’s just why. So I was like the closet bully at times.
I picked on Khali a lot. I would just poke and prod, and poke and prod, until he got his hands on me, then, ‘Nope, I’m good for today!’
Big E, riding, I poked and prodded, and he actually texted Woods and Kofi, ‘I don’t know if I can put up with Dylan (Hornswoggle) anymore. He just keeps bullying me. He won’t stop.’
So they were finally like, ‘Just put him in his place.’
I always had a backpack with all my stuff, my entertainment stuff, laptop, stuff in it. We were walking into a building, was bullying him that day, and he just walked in behind me, and he booted me from the backpack. Boom!
And I, as Kofi describes it, I Superman’d, and I landed right on my face, and my backpack hit, and E didn’t even say a thing. And I literally got up, I look at Kofi and go, ‘Breaking point?’ He goes, ‘Yeah I think that was his breaking point.’
And I literally walked up and said, ‘Yeah, I deserved that.’ And he goes, ‘Oh yeah, you did.’ I would like to say it stopped, but it didn’t stop. It was never mean-spirited.”
Big E Confirms Retirement
During a recent appearance on an earlier episode of the same podcast, Big E admitted that his in-ring career is now behind him. The comments are the closest the former World Champion has ever come to formally announcing his retirement.
The star hasn’t wrestled since suffering a major neck injury during a tag team match on the March 11, 2022 edition of SmackDown. During the match, E took a Belly-to-Belly Suplex at ringside, but landed high up on his neck instead of flat on his back.
Although he avoided surgery and has since resumed a normal life, a return to thing proven to be impossible.
