Ex-WWE Star Addresses John Cena Speculation

WWE John Cena

The stars are still lining up to face John Cena.

John Cena will finally hang up his jorts at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. To mark the occasion, a new tournament has been created to determine the legend’s last opponent.

When the tournament was announced, Cena said that it could even include stars not under contract with WWE. This sparked wild speculation online with all kinds of names thrown into the mix, including Matt Cardona.

Although now known for his exploits on the independent circuit, Cardona has a history with Cena in WWE, where he wrestled as Zack Ryder. To add to the speculation, Cardona recently returned to the company as part of TNA’s takeover of NXT.

During a new interview on Notsam Wrestling, Cardona refused to rule out taking a spot in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament.

“What does my entrance music say? What does my gear say? What does my butt say when you read my trunks?… It says ‘Alwayz Ready.’ So I’ve made a career out of being always ready, and I’ve said it for years, if the phone rings, I’ll have a conversation… Listen, this is an opportunity — an ultimate opportunity for anybody. So, who could it be?”

Seth Rollins Pays Special Tribute To John Cena

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins has sent his love to John Cena as he remains on the sidelines following surgery. Rollins described Cena as a great friend and “one of the best to ever do it” as he closes on retirement.

Unfortunately for Rollins, he’s set to miss around six more months of action after undergoing surgery.

Rollins and Cena last shared the ring at Elimination Chamber back in March. They last met in a televised singles match in June 2016.
