Ex-WWE Personality Says SmackDown Star Has “Steve Austin Vibes”
In the pantheon of one-word wrestling catchphrases, Steve Austin’s “What?” might be the most polarising but could another WWE star be on the verge of big things in the company with their own one-word slogan? Yeah!
LA Knight has been receiving bigger and bigger reactions as he talks to the people every Friday night on SmackDown. There had been suggestions that Knight could be in line for a last-minute featured spot at WrestleMania 39 but that didn’t prove to be the case.
Despite that, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell thinks Knight has the same vibe about them as Stone Cold Steve Austin and thinks Knight’s career could begin to take the same trajectory as he explained on Smack Talk:
“I think he’s a very valuable performer to them and they wanna take their time with him. I’d rather they take their time instead of trying to rush him. I think that helps him in the long run and that helps WWE… He kind of puts off a little bit of Stone Cold vibes to me. He goes, ‘Hey let me talk at you’ and people like that. I think he can go out there, and as the old saying goes, he can talk them into the building. You give him something hot and I think he’s gonna take off and run.
“I don’t think LA Knight has to worry about getting over because he’s already over. Now they can just use him however they want. I don’t think the crowd reaction is going to change. And when they do something with him, he’s going to be massively over. He really is. If they’re acting like this without him beating anybody, give him a push.”
Despite losing to Xavier Woods on SmackDown in Lincoln, Nebraska, there could be big things in LA Knight’s future with WWE said to be considering him for a landmark career win over the summer.
