Ex-WWE Star Found Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens Hard To Work With

An ex-WWE star struggled to work with two top stars.

During his five years with WWE, Matt Riddle crossed paths with several of the company’s biggest stars.

Although Riddle never captured World Championship gold, he did once challenge Roman Reigns for the company’s top prize and enjoyed runs with the United States and Tag Team Titles.

In a new interview with Going Ringside, Riddle discussed his toughest opponents, and he said while Sheamus hit the hardest, working with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn came with its own problems.

“Hardest opponent? Hardest opponent in the ring? I would have to say Sheamus. Sheamus, easy to work with, hits really hard. So hardest in the ring. But, then when I think about who’s harder to maybe work with, I would have to say Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens… It’s hard to put a complete sentence together with those guys if you know what I’m saying… Very difficult.

Sheamus hits ya hard, but it’s easy to put together.”

Riddle was briefly aligned with Owens and Zayn in the weeks after WrestleMania 39. Following a hiatus that lasted several months, Riddle returned to Raw on the night after WrestleMania and later teamed with Zayn and Owens at Backlash, resuming his storyline with The Bloodline.

Matt Riddle Open To WWE Return

Riddle was fired by WWE in September 2023 after an incident at JFK Airport, where he appeared to be intoxicated, and fellow passengers noted he was “loud and rude.”

Matt Riddle also alleged that he’d been sexually harassed by an officer at the airport.

Despite the nature of his departure, Riddle has repeatedly said he’d be open to returning to WWE and resuming his partnership with Randy Orton.
