AEW has added another former WWE figure.

Legendary Spanish language announcer Carlos Cabrera has agreed a deal to join AEW.

Cabrera is best known for his work at the Spanish language announce table in WWE where he worked from 1994 until his release by the company in early 2022. During this period the announcer worked alongside the likes of Ed Trucco, Hugo Savinovich, and later Marcelo Rodriguez.

Cabrera also headed up WWE en Espanol, which recapped WWE programming.

In a post on social media, Tony Khan announced that Cabrera has joined the AEW announce team.

Tony Khan Interested In Bringing Former WWE Star To AEW

In a recent interview, Tony Khan admitted he’d be open to working with another WWE Hall of Famer. After Nikki Garcia said she almost approached Khan over working for AEW, the President said Nikki and Brie were already like family.

Khan added that he’d “love” to have Nikki involved if she ever wanted to be part of the team.

Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast, Nikki Garcia revealed she was so inspired by a promo from Mercedes Mone that she contemplated contacting Khan about joining the company. However, she ultimately decided against it, deciding to stay with her young son.

Brie Garcia is married to All Elite star Bryan Danielson.
