Ex-WWE Diva Says Kissing Vince McMahon Was “Interesting”

Ex-WWE Diva shares how she felt while kissing Vince McMahon.

Torrie Wilson debuted in WWE as a heel on the June 28, 2001, episode of SmackDown as part of The Alliance . On her very first day, she had to kiss Vince McMahon during the Invasion angle. The kiss took place as part of an on-screen angle to introduce her character and establish her role on TV.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on his podcast, Wilson recalled kissing Vince McMahon while his wife, Linda McMahon, was present at the scene. She stated Linda helped her “navigate” the setting, which she said made the experience feel both better and more awkward at the same time. Despite the nervousness, the WWE Hall of Famer felt happy to have a significant role on WWE TV from the start.

Kissing Vince was interesting because Linda was standing right there. Um, kind of… kind of helping to navigate it all. So, I don’t know if that made me feel better or more weird. Um, but, you know, I was just really happy to have like a big role on TV then. (From 24:43 to 25:03)

Torrie Wilson also reflected on her entire WWE career with mixed feelings, including some discomfort about the more sexualized and revealing parts of her portrayal. She admitted feeling disgusted with how her character was portrayed on TV. She also revealed that she had ignored calls from WWE after retirement because of that.

I honestly don’t know. I do know there…this guy, Mark Carrano, who was in head of talent relations for some time. There were a few phone calls that he had made that I didn’t return closer leading up to like 2016-17. I don’t know what they were for. Maybe they were just for a signing or something.
