A former multi-time champion in WWE isn’t signing a new contract any time soon.

During the mid-2000s era of WWE, the women’s division was gaining traction as a new era of divas led the way. The women of that era that fans remember fondly include Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool, Layla and Melina among others.

Melina spent some of her career as a manger for the MNM tag team along with a manger for John Morrison, but she was very successful on her own.

As a wrestler, Melina won the two version of the Women’s Title (one of them was called the Divas Title) a total of five times and was arguably one of the top women in the company for several years. Melina’s initial WWE run lasted about seven years from 2004 to 2011 when she was released.

In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Melina was asked about if she had an interest in signing a WWE Legends deal like many past stars have done. Melina has apparently been asked about it a lot and made it clear she hasn’t signed anything.

“Don’t believe everything that’s on the Internet, unless you hear it from somebody’s mouth. So many, still to this day, a lot of rumors always going around about me. Still not true. Still not true.”

Melina Says Signing WWE Legends Deal Depends On Multiple Factors

The discussion continued with Melina being asked if she wanted to sign a WWE Legends deal.

“It just all depends on what they take away from your life. Of course, there will be more money and this and that. But it’s not about the money for me. It’s about being able to be free to do what I want with what I was blessed with in wrestling.”

While Melina isn’t signed to a pro wrestling company right now, she has had matches in places like TNA and the NWA in recent years. She also regularly makes appearances to meet wrestling fans, take photos and sign autographs.

Melina has also said in the past that she wants to be a manager again, so it’s unknown if that’s still something she wants to pursue.
