Former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry is moving to WWE.

Hendry is currently under contract with TNA Wrestling but has been making regular appearances on NXT TV for a while. While still contracted to TNA, he is being gradually phased out of TNA programming as part of a transition plan to WWE. The general expectation among insiders is that he will become a full-time WWE wrestler soon.

While speaking to his co-hosts Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez and Jake Bennett on the latest edition of The REBOOKED Wrestling podcast, TNA commentator Matt Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) said that Hendry heading to WWE is not a matter of if, but when. This statement, coming from a TNA personality, confirms that Hendry’s eventual destination is Triple H’s locker room.

I mean, it’s no secret, clearly, Joe is headed to WWE NXT. I don’t know when that official switch will happen from a paperwork standpoint, but it’s clear that’s the direction. (From 5:42)

Joe Hendry Could Be Part Of John Cena’s Tournament

Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts predicted that Joe Hendry could be in John Cena’s “Last Time Is Now” tournament.
“The other person has to be Joe Hendry. I mean, there’s just no doubt in my mind. Joe Hendry is in this tournament. To not be in this tournament would be nuts. I think Joe Hendry is in. Matt Cardona and Joe Hendry.”
Hendry made his WWE in-ring debut in a 25-man battle royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Championship on the June 18, 2024, edition of NXT. Hendry made a surprise appearance in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble as the TNA World Champion, marking him as the first TNA champion to enter the event. He also appeared as Randy Orton’s mystery opponent at WrestleMania 41.
