Ex-World Champion Declares Start Of New WWE Era
This former World Champion is white-hot and would effectively be kicking off a new era in the WWE.
On December 13th at Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME), former World Champion Gunther faced John Cena in the latter’s last ever wrestling match. After being locked by The Ring General in an inescapable sleeper hold, The Leader Of The Cenation was seen sheepishly tapping out with a mild smile on his face, thus ending his time as an in-ring competitor.
To get the privilege of facing the Never Seen 17 star, Gunther would participate in and win the Last Time Is Now tournament that was conducted to determine who John Cena would face in his final match. The former two-time World Heavyweight Champion cut a promo on the first episode of RAW after SNME on December 15th, where he strutted to the ring in a trench coat and provoked the crowd by declaring that “John Cena tapped out like a little b**ch”.

Furthering the RAW promo, Gunther took to Instagram to declare a new era in Stamford-based company: the Gunther Era. His post read:
