Ex-WCW Star Working Towards In-Ring Return

WCW NWO

Former WCW and WWE star Buff Bagwell has made headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent times but now it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel following serious health issues.

Wrestling fans that watched during the much-talked-about Monday Night Wars era are familiar with Marcus “Buff” Bagwell. During his decade-long WCW career from 1991 to 2001, Bagwell was a five-time WCW Tag Team Champion with four different partners.

His time in WWE was a lot less productive, with his only WWE match coming in the main event of Monday Night Raw on July 2nd in Tacoma, Washington when he faced Booker T for the WCW World Title. One week later Bagwell was fired by the company.

In recent times Bagwell has suffered from issues relating to substance misuse, although he recently gave a positive update on that front. The star has also suffered from serious health issues and on Road Dogg’s ‘Oh… You Didn’t Know?’ podcast, Bagwell gave an update on his current condition.

Buff Bagwell had been possibly facing amputation but with that option now apparently off the table and an infection in his knee now gone, he’s making moves to get back in the ring:

“I just had great, great news yesterday… If this one test comes back where there’s no infection in my knee, I’m literally a few months away from starting a journey of getting back in the ring.”

Buff Bagwell was last in action in October 2022 on an independent show in Alaska that also featured the likes of The Acclaimed, Scotty 2 Hotty, Orange Cassidy, and Jay Lethal.
