Ex-Universal Champion Responds To WWE Return Rumors
According to the rumor mill, ex-WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman might soon return to WWE.
Renowned wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently stated in his dirtsheet that Strowman may soon return to WWE as a part-timer. The ex-WWE star himself commented on the rumor, claiming that it is false.
Speaking with Baby Huey in a recent episode of In The Kliq podcast, Braun Strowman stated that he’s not returning to WWE anytime soon, as he’s focused on his other ventures.
“Don’t believe the stuff you hear on these dirt sheets, because none of them are true. You’ll see me when I feel like letting you see me when it comes to that. But I’m really focused right now on the food space. I’ve got four movies that I’m attached to next year. I’m in talks with four or five other television shows.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I still miss being in the ring, and these things are very capable of being passed out whenever I want to. But I’m also enjoying a little break, because my body is starting to somewhat feel normal. I’m getting some of these injuries healed up that were nagging for years and stuff like that, because I never really had time to fully recover from anything. It was just go, go, go.”
Braun Strowman Takes A Subtle Shot At WWE
In addition to addressing the rumors, Strowman, who was released in May 2025, discussed his time in WWE. He stated WWE never pushed him as the top guy but always used him as a second option. But when there was an emergency, the company would always turn to him.
“I’ve always said this—I was never their plan A. But anytime the show was in turmoil or something was going wrong, there was this little glass box over here that said, ‘In case of emergency, break,’ and my name was underneath it. Because no matter what, when you hit that button—guess what happened? People tuned in and watched.”
