One can truly never say never in the world of WWE.

WWE has been home to many top names. Many stars who have wrestled in the promotion have achieved big things outside. Now, former United States Champion, Mr. Kennedy, has expressed his intentions of returning to the promotion.

Mr Kennedy, known for his charismatic mic skills and booming self-introductions, was a standout Superstar in the mid-2000s. Debuting on SmackDown, he quickly gained attention with his brash persona and signature catchphrase. In addition to being a former United States Champion, Mr. Kennedy is a Money In The Bank winner in 2007.

When in conversation with Chris Van Vilet, the former WWE Superstar was asked about his intentions to ever return to the Stamford-based promotion. Mr Kennedy stated that 16 years ago, he had no desire to work in the WWE, especially during his stint in TNA. However, now his mind has changed.

“I didn’t want to, I swear to God, I had no desire. I think that I never wanted to blow the bridge up completely. But I really had no desire. When I was at TNA, I was like, I’ll never go back there. I’ll never work for them again. Now it’s changed. I would definitely go back now.”

Why Did Mr Kennedy And WWE Part Ways?

Once poised to be one of the company’s top stars, Mr. Kennedy’s sudden departure shocked fans. Just days after his return from injury, a backstage fallout triggered by a single match would seal his fate, ending what many believed was a main event future.

The former United States Champion parted ways with WWE in 2009 after a controversial in-ring incident involving Randy Orton. A botched backdrop led Orton to raise concerns about Kennedy’s safety, with John Cena reportedly backing those claims. Combined with prior injuries and backstage issues, the company decided to release him shortly after his return.
