A former AEW employee whose run with the company didn’t well has spoken about further issues he has had.

Kevin Kelly is a veteran pro wrestling broadcaster who became a household name in the mid-1990s WWE as the grew into the highly successful Attitude Era. After leaving WWE, Kelly bounced back in a new role as the lead voice of Ring of Honor and was also the voice of New Japan Pro Wrestling for many years.

After his run in NJPW, Kelly signed with AEW in June 2023 as the company launched Collision, but that didn’t go very well.

In March 2024, Kevin Kelly was fired by AEW after going public with his frustrations with the company and comments made by fellow AEW announcer Ian Riccaboni online. Since then, Kelly has blasted AEW for firing him and gone in-depth talking about his issues with Riccaboni among others.

AEW Took Back Kevin Kelly’s Severance Package

During an appearance on the Refin’ It Up podcast, Kelly revealed that AEW took away his severance package after depositing in his account.

“And of course, they fired me and it was real just sh*tty and picky. They gave me a… what do you call it? A little severance package. Very little. Then they took it back. They put it into my account and then a couple of days later, they took it back, because I didn’t sign some form or something like that.”

“So, it’ll all come out eventually, and when the time is right, I can say, okay, here’s all the things that happened: A, B, C, D and E. Here’s times that it happened and here’s the reason why we’re doing what we’re doing.”

All Elite Wrestling hasn’t commented on the situation.
