Even The Rock’s Mother Wants Him Back In WWE

The Rock and his mother

Rumours had persisted for months that The Rock would be competing at WrestleMania 39, but with that now not on the cards, a family member says even the icon’s own mother wants him back in WWE.

The Rock had long been expected to be a part of WrestleMania ‘going Hollywood’ in 2023 with Roman Reigns expected to be his opponent. But with other commitments such as the launch of the XFL taking up The People’s Champ’s time, he won’t be competing with Roman Reigns instead defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes.

Speaking to Insider, WWE star and The Rock’s cousin Tamina has explained that even the Hollywood star’s own mother is supportive of him returning to the ring in the future:

“All of us, including his mama, want him to come back. I feel like everybody wants him to return. It’s what you were made to do, and born to do. Wrestling is a love. Dwayne’s a huge mentor, you know because when I first started, it was because of him. He’s a huge example. The way he is in interviews, that’s really him — he’s really that funny person.”

“He’s that loving man, that husband, and he is that father. Like, his girls are crazy about their dad. You see him as a character, you see him as a superstar at WWE. It’s all these different things, but he’s an entrepreneur. He could probably become the next president for crying out loud, and I’m proud of him. You can never repay anybody back for any of that for the kind of love that they show you.”

The Rock last competed in any type of match in WWE back at WrestleMania 32 when he defeated Erick Rowan in an impromptu bout in a matter of seconds.
